Growing a Top-Notch Family Tree
For anyone who’s an amateur at genealogy research, like me, this book is very helpful! Nancy has tons of experience tracking down ancestral records, and she lays out several of the best ways to use the available websites, census records, DNA tests, and other resources, along with very useful cautions about unreliable information. That’s essentially the first half of the book, and in the second half she shares the stories of several of her own ancestors who she’s uncovered information about – but that might end up being relevant to you too, since many of them are famous people such as royals, and, as I also learned in this book, it’s actually quite common for European-descended folks to have royalty in their family tree.
Nancy’s hard work and easy-to-follow explanations will get you curious about your own genealogy, and might even send you on some cool overseas trips like the ones she’s taken!
